I want to stay in Korea but under a different visa i.e. working holiday.
Do I need to cancel/get a LOR for my E2 first?
I have broached cancelling my E2, and getting any help from the school is going to be very difficult, that is why I was hoping to avoid it if possible. |

Talking to immigration seems like the sensible thing to do. Maybe it's just me though... |

I'm just worried that if my school doesn't cancel my visa properly, I could get in trouble. I heard they are supposed to let the authorities know if a teacher is no longer working for them within 24 hours. |

Why don't you start by asking your boss what he/she is going to do first? |

I would agree with Shifdog. Talk with your director and ask what is going to happen. Arrange for them to accompany you to immigration and file all the appropriate paper work. Get your exit order, have a couple of days in Japan and come back. The hogwan closing is traumatic, but just take it a day at a time. |

Actually it was a Public School program that they decided not to continue with. Certain people at the school were awful throughout the whole time and I doubt would go with me to immi. Is there a specific person who has to go with me or can it be any teacher from the school? |
