My information is about 5 years old so take it for what it's worth. First off the Korean embassy in Bangkok is WAY the hell out of the way, by taxi it was a good hike, close to an hour with traffic if I remember well. Then there is a real queen biatch behind the counter, man she was rude. I believe it's 24 hours as I definitely didn't get it the same day, I remember going back there again. Anyway you should check first before you go, but good luck..... |

Hi,
You have to apply for the Visa after 1:30; I got there in the morning and was told to come back. And the woman IS still rather unpleasant. Make sure you have one photo AND a photcopy of your passport. The woman was very upset as both I and another visa applicant didn't have a copy and were told to wait until everyone else was processed.
You must come back the next day during a one hour window; if I remember well it was between 10:30 and 11:30.
It is far out of town. If you're short on time and you can handle the danger you can hire a motorbike taxi. If time isn't an issue a taxi is far safer and more comfortable and about the same price. 100 baht or so from downtown.
Good luck, |

You're best off to call the embassy directly -- cause when I did mine there in 2004 it was a 3 day affair: ie/ drop off on Monday and pick up on Wednesday.
I found the woman quite pleasant, there were no problems at all! Also, when you phone the embassy (I don't have the number but I remember it wasn't hard to get, google for the S.K. embassy in Bangkok) they were helpful with answering questions and giving directions.
The taxi ride is expensive by Thai standards, mainly because I was living there and earning a Thai salary -- but I think it was about 250 Baht one way, which is less than 10,000 won. Not a big deal. And I lived way out at the edge of BKK and it was a looooooooong drive. From inside the city it would be less. I asked the driver to wait while I went in, and he gladly sat and had a cigarette and then drove me back to where he picked me up. |

I just did it in February, and it was an overnight affair. They were picky about what time to show up to drop off the paperwork and what time to pick up the visa, but otherwise there were no problems. |

Just take the elevated tollway and get off at the Rachadapisek exit...the consulate is on Ruammet Rd and the turn is in front of Robisons dept store. |

I googled the embassy and found their email and phone number. Both which are out of order. Does anyone have their contact info? |

It's a fairly painless procedure. Drop off the paperwork and pick up the visa the next day. Yes, it's off the beaten path, but just down the street is a free interactive history museum, with air-con. Drop in there while you wait for the next 'taxi-meter'. |
