My co-worker is applying for jobs with the public schools and they told him he needed one of these from each of his previous employees. Sounds like that "bucket of steam" someone told me I had to fetch from the back of the store on my first day as a bagger at the supermarket long long ago.

Heard of it? Sounds like some nasty fiery hoops to have to jump through. Are they just messin' with him?

Letter of reference, certificate of employment, copy of ID with employment dates, something to prove you worked where/when you said you did.

This is usually done when someone wants a bump up from level 3 to level 2 or level 1 based on work experience.

Letter of reference doesn't suffice unless it includes work dates.
