im flying with korean air next week from icn to yyz and i was wondering what their policy was with liquids on board?

i like to bring a big bottle of water with me on long international flights, but i dont know if korean air has adopted the same kind of restrictions as some of the US carriers.

any info would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
steve.

I flew back in December from Korea. In Korea (and Japan where we connected), you had to chug or throw away ANY liquid not in the approved 100ml (3 ounce) containers--even if it had been purchased after security. They also checked my bags 3 times to look at hte amount of liquid. Thats 3 times in Busan and 3 times in Tokyo.

When I came back to Korea from the States, they let me carry on the water I had bought after security. No problems. The checked it all once at security and sent me on my merry way.

Take from that what you will. Both flights were on Northwest.

I'm the same as you and get REALLY dried out on long flights, but you'll jsut have to bug the attendant a lot. I don't think they'll let you carry anything.

Save yourself any problems.... have an empty bottle with you and get the flight attendant to fill it for you once you get on board.

I flew to Japan and back to Korea two weeks ago on Korea Air. I had three big bottles of skin lotion and two lighters in my purse! No problems at all. When I asked if the no-liquid rule applies to Korea Air, they said it will from March 1st 2007. Also the speakers at the airport announce that you cannot carry more than 4 ml of liquid in your carry-on luggage if you are flying to the United States or any of the European union countries. Other countries seem to have no problem with liquids.

I did a longhaul flight last week. According to 'regulations' you cannot take any liquids in containers over 100ml on flights going to the EU or North America. However, I wasn't aware this was still in effect and boarded with a 330ml bottle of water in my coat pocket without being stopped!
Actually, if you buy the water in the duty free area and can show a receipt on boarding, that is also another way you can get liquids on board.
On our flight, they were handing out bottles of water, obviously realizing that people like to have a lot to drink on a flight, so I don't think you'll be at risk of dehydration.
