My current contract finishes on the 28th of Februaruy, but my visa expires on the 3rd of March. I have signed a new contract that starts on the 1st of March and have been given a visa issuance paper for the 1st of March. My question is, when I go to Japan to get the new visa stamped in my passport will there be a problem with the 2 day overlap with my existing visa. Wouldn't immigration have denied me the visa issuance paper/number if this were going to be a problem? I don't want to go over there and have them tell me that they cant because my current visa is still valid. What role does the Korean consulate play in issuing a visa other than stamping it?

Anyone have any experience with this issue? Thanks for your help.

No problem. You are technically exiting the country and ending your first visa, then starting a new one.

You got the visa issuance number. That was the hard part. This same thing happens to many, many people.

I looked again and I actually only received a letter of appointment for my visa - I will be working for EPIK and they give different visa forms with no visa number. This, from what I can gather, is not issued through immigration but from the department of education.

Will the consulate see that my current visa expires on the 3rd and not give me a new one which starts on the first?

Should I get a letter of release from my current school Question
