hey, tried unsucessfully to get a difinitive answer...
can americans claim a pension refund after a 12 month contract? or do they have to contribute for 18 months?

I beleive that you can get what was put into it whenever you leave Korea. Just go to the Pension office and apply for it. I'm not 100% on this however. |

You can claim your pension even after one month. As long as you contributed to it, it's YOUR money, and you can get it back. |

You can get your pension 2 months after you apply and leave Korea. Apply for it yourself, don't leave it up to the school to do it because they won't do it.
And again, I just want to say that you can apply for your pension even if you choose to stay in Korea. And if a person does it this way (using their Korean bank account) they can get the money in 2 weeks. |

Dream that one up, Kalkamagi? Actually, I think you have to do two , 22 month contracts. |

no, but i did dream last night that i used scissors to cut off my cats 2 front legs.
i remember poking around the pension office site a year or so back and seeing the Canada= 12 months, US=18 months thing. i really hope i'm wrong.... |
