Here is what the wikipedia page for hangul in Korean translates into English as. Makes LOADS of sense!

Hangul (Korean alphabet) as specific letter of the Korean language 1443 ship construction 4th large wages Sejong [hwun] created with the name which is a civil administration sound. After it undergoes the opposition of the many high official, upper end, it freezes and it bites and the cancer with the back which will grow disadvantageous right it is treated with contempt and it stands but [kkwus] [kkwus] survived and the name which is from staring Hangul (Korean alphabet) which is a modern Hangul (Korean alphabet) scholar light it received. The fork phonogram (sound letter) belongs in middle phoneme letter.

Makes sense when you put it like that.

I'm sure it's right on par with your translations.

Nope it's way better. Just thought it was amusing to see just how much gets lost in translation, makes you realise just how hard it is to actually understand language rather than just being able to read it or regurgitate it. Wasn't trying to imply I could do better.

I was joking.

It seems Google translations are as good as Babelfish. Just for fun, I ran that English back through Babalfish and got this:

wrote:

Yes, obviously if someone who was bilingual sat down it would be a lot better. Just thought it was amusing to read something in English that was so utterly confusing.

Actually, I edited for an Eastern European magazine and some of the translations they set me were nearly just like this. [rant]It is just like all the new signs at my school. Almost every single one has some kind of mistake. Why couldn't they just ask one of the English teachers to look them over first? I was at the DMZ a few weeks ago and the museum exhibits were filled with mistakes. If I was spending so much money on these things I would want to make sure that it is correct. [/rant][/list]
