I have the multiple entry on my current visa.
This visa is set to expire March 4
I have renewed my contract at my school and will process the papers for my next year tomorrow.
I will go out of country but will return before my original visa expires.
Any idea what the status of my multiple re-entry will be? |

| So, will you have your new visa in your passport when you come back to Korea? Or will you be going on a visa run after? Either way, it sounds like you will be alright. |

| no, I won't be going on a visa run since I'm staying at the same school. Hopefully, it'll be alright. I'm going to get my papers done today so hopefully I can find someone who actually speaks English at the immigration office. |

I'm doing something similar... and I just renewed my work visa yesterday, before leaving the country.
Every time you get a new work visa or renew it, you have to specify whether you want it to be multiple entry or not. As a Canadian, it cost me W80,000 for the new work visa with multiple entry status (W30,000 for the new work visa, W50,000 for multiple entry). So if you leave and come back on the old work visa before it expires, you can use your old multiple entry status. If you renew your work visa before you leave, you will probably have to pay for the multiple entry on the new visa and the old one should be cancelled (even though it shouldn't expire until later).
Unfortunately for me, my passport expires in October and I should have renewed it already! After I come back from my trip to Bali I will have to renew my passport and pay the W80,000 again to renew the multiple entry work visa in my new passport... it can't just be transferred to my new passport... grrr.
Hope that makes sense... |

I extended with my school last year and every new visa requires a new multiple re-entry permit

Your multi re-entry will be good until the date marked on it and as long as you return before that date you are a happy camper UNLESS you are American.
If you are AMERICAN you will have to get a re-entry permit when you extend because your multi-entry visa is replaced by your in-country extension.
Alternatively you can get a NEW multi-entry stamp at the same time you get your visa extension and it will be good until next year. Total cost will be 80K (extension and new multi-re-entry permit) assuming you are NOT from the UK. UK citizens get their re-entry permits for free but they must still apply for it. |
