Just wondering how many public school teachers get some or all of the days off between the graduation ceremony and the start of the new year?

I know of at least one person who does, but I'm going to ask/confront my school on the issue and want to know what others are facing.

Tomorrow the 14th is my school's Graduation.

I don't have to come in. But I have to attend the mornings of 15th
and 26th only.

Besides I had resigned and the 26th is my last day to attend and
say GOODBYE at school meeting.

Thank god, it's almost over. [/b]

Going to Japan for a week. BUt apparently its up to the principal if that time is "prep time for next semester" week or vacation week for all the teachers.

I am at the school this week. I will likely not have to come to school during that period but I dont expect I will find out for sure until last minute on Friday.

I'm glad to hear that others seem to get that time off, but with my school/principal the fact that it seems to be a last minute decision makes me think I'm facked. I have to fight to leave 30 minutes early(when I have no classes) to go to the bank, so an extra two weeks off... Scheisse

Why don't you go to the bank when you don't have a class?
I do. I don't ask anyone's permission, I just go. Same as the Korean teachers.

I have 2 weeks off. But bear in mind I haven't had any time off since my 1-week summer break.

I essentially have two weeks off as well. I have to be here until Friday, though I'm not sure what I'll be doing on friday what with no kids, and no classes, and no new schedule for next semester, and not knowing if we're using textbooks or not, and not even knowing what grades I'll be teaching.

I have to come in for two days during the next two weeks, but the same issues described above apply...

About going to the bank, you really dont need to ask prsmission. I mean seriously, nobody will know you went anywhere if you are worried about it. But even if they do, do you think they will care?

Yeah, just go to the bank in your free time during the day.

As for me and days at school. I had the second of my two weeks vacation last week. I went to my main school yesterday. Did half of my regular scheduled classes. At my second school today I co-teached one class, the sixth graders didn't turn up. They told me to take a break till March 6th Smile I bet I'll be keeping office hours at my main school.
