Does anybody have any good ones? It seems like a prety simple dish, appropriate for the food-preparation-challenged. What's the red sauce?
Other suggestions? I'm a little bored of cereal and ramen. |

Bibimbap: Take some rice, chop up whatever veggies you want, maybe a bit of cooked meat and arrange on top of the rice. Put a fried egg on top of that.
The red stuff is gochujang - available everywhere.
Toss some of that in, mix it up. Voila. |

you have to be careful of what gochujang you get- once i got the stuff they use for sashimi (lots of vinegar). very disappointing. i get this stuff called bibimjang.
i don't know how to prepare all the vegetables, but SESAME OIL is the secret ingrediant. |

i used to make bibimbap when i missed spicy food in england
since i couldn't get all the ingredients such as namul(seasoned vegetables), i used whatever i could find and cook
fried mushrooms, carots, onions, peppers, meat(sometimes tuna)
and fried egg
mix them with fried egg and sesame oil
i like to mix it with laver |

Galbi is probably OK... but after the soju, I can't remember what it tastes like... so it doesn't count. |

Most of the recipes for bibimbap seem like stir-fry with rice. Yet, bibimbap tastes much different. Is it that the veggies are aften uncooked, plus the red sauce? |

Has anybody made kimchi?
I have this fantasy of making kimchi and serving it to my teacher conversation class (all women...I'm male). |

Sometimes i make bibimbap but add a couple of substitutions and it is awesome..
Add some sliced up strips of chicken and a little butter and it tastes incredible...
I got this idea when i went to a Korean fusion restaurant in Kyoto and can't understand why Koreans haven't done it.... |
