|
|
I'd love to know what people think are the best free downloading sites for music on the net..
I used to use Shereaza and it was fantastic. These days however it doesnt do the job for me. I have lots of songs queued...waiting and Its been a long time since i was able to download a song from there..
I used Limewire this past week and that program is great for downloading speed but the range of music available isnt great..
Are there any other sites... I have Bit Lord too but that is a bit like shereaza....Just doesnt download the songs that i try to download..slow..etc
Any other suggestions...!!
Thanks.. |

SoulSeek. Decent speeds and lots of fairly obscure stuff. Torrents aren't bad if you don't mind the long download times but you can get complete albums and an artist's entire catalog fairly easily. |

Agreed. Soulseek has, by far, the widest selection of music I've seen. The con is that you only download from one person at a time, so the speed is dependent upon their upload speed, and if they sign off, you have to start over.
Getting a whole album at a time, though, from a community who, in general, downloads albums, not just singles, saves a boatload of time in the end. Make sure you share enough of your files, though, or people will ban you from downloading from them.
Also, you can use it to upload suggestions to friends (or documents and large files to less-than tech-savvy parents) whenever you want to, without file-size limits.

I use the 157 test 8 version, and that works much better for me than the 156c for some reason. |

www.albumbase.com this site is
This is where I get all of my music. Not a torrent site rather it has links to external sites like: sendspace.com or megauploads.com
You must download the entire album but in my case I prefer that. You will need a basic archive unpacking program as the files all come in .zip or .rar format.
Enjoy!!! |

I use Ares for my music downloads. You don't get the spyware and mis-named files like on other sites. It's pretty good for software and videos too.

oink is where it's at for sure. It's not that hard to get in, just ask anyone who knows a bit about music and has contacts and your chances should be good. Be warned that they are quite strict about maintaining a good ratio though. |

Should people have ownership over intellectual property? Or property at all for that matter. |
