I was considering applying to their grad program for internation studies. Does anyone have any knowledge of this program? Any info on how difficult it is to get in, the quality of the school, support afforded to international students etc. would be very very appreciated.
Thanks! |

The president of the university recently got in big trouble for plagiarizing papers written by grad students. Watch your back (or paper). |

You have to ask yourself how would a Korean grad degree fit in with your future plans? I have an Aussie buddy who got his master's in international politics from Seoul National Univ., but he only saw it as a stepping stone for Ph.d work, which he did back in his home country. He also did his degree taking courses in KOREAN.
I'm sure you're also interested in international studies, but consider that the degree, even an advanced one, is a dime a dozen nowadays. I've seen plenty of peeps who sought work in other fields because their master's or Ph.d in international studies netted them nothing in terms of jobs.
But if you are interested, please know that KU is giving away a lot of scholarships to non-Korean foreigners to attend its grad program. Try to get one of those scholarships if you do decide to go (though I personally wouldn't advise going, you'll probably learn more from an online grad program). |
