Easy, assuming your school has a wireless router or AP to broadcast the signal. If they don't you need to buy one (cheap one is 40,000 won to 100,000 won) and plug it into the internet connection. Explaining that is a whole different post, though.
Turn on the button that turns on the wireless in your notebook. It should be a slide switch somewhere on the outside (but could be internal -- not likely).
Assuming you have Windows XP, there sould be a little computer Icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, next to the other icons. Right-click on it and open up all internet connections. Make sure your wireless connection is turned on (Enabled) -- if not, then double-click it to Enable. Close that window once it is.
Go down to that little computer icon again (there might be 2 -- one for wireless is what you want), and double-click it to bring up a list of the wifi signals present. There is a line to click to search for signals, if there are none. Once you find one (your school), double-click that and wait for it to connect.
I'm assuming that you don't have security on your school's wireless connection. If you do, you will need to ask the school for the code, so you can access it.
Good luck. Doing this from memory, and not on my laptop, so hope I got it right. |
