I'm trying to find some information about how many teachers are legally working in South Korea. I'd also like to know how many licensed schools there are as well. Does anybody know where to look for these kind of statistics? I've been unable to find anything yet.
Thanks-- |

As of 2003, there were a reported total of 3,000 hogwons
As of Aug. 2006, there were approximately (IIRC) 14,200 legally working foreigners here.
You can find this info. and more by going to naver and typing the searches in Korean (get a korean friend to help you). |

Interesting.....I guessed at 20K FT's in another post, though I would have guessed a lot more hakwons. Maybe around 5-8000.... |
