So my wife and I are in Frankfurt on our way back to Korea from Paris after a great honeymoon and we plan to do some duty free shopping today before our flight. I planned on buying more liquor than I'm allowed and declaring it in Korea thinking the tax could not be more than maybe 30%, but I could not have been more off base if I tried; she checked the customs site and found that whiskey is 155%
I could not believe what I was hearing, so upon seeing that there is an English site I checked for myself:
Whiskey 155.55%
Beer 191.72%
Wine 68.25%
Perfumes 35.00%
Cosmetics 20.00%
Source
Suffice it to say, I'm only getting my 2 bottles (1 will be hers) and declaring nothing. |
