Impeach President Obama over Libya? Some liberal critics, Ralph Nader, Dennis Kucinich, suggest it

Some of President Obama's liberal critics say he should be impeached for unleashing U.S. military might on Libyan strongman Moammar Khadafy.
Failed left-leaning presidential hopefuls Dennis Kucinich, an Ohio congressman, and Ralph Nader, a consumer advocate, say Obama violated the Constitution when he failed to receive congressional approval to act in Libya.
"President Obama moved forward without Congress approving. He didn't have congressional authorization, he has gone against the Constitution and that's got to be said," Kucinich told Raw Story on Monday.
"It's not even disputable. This isn't even a close question. Such an action -- that involves putting America's servicemen and women into harm's way, whether they're in the Air Force or the Navy -- is a grave decision that cannot be made by the President alone."
"And I'm raising the question as to whether or not it's an impeachable offense. It would appear on its face to be an impeachable offense," he added.

Yeah, what's the point in even having a Congress? Obama should just crown himself emperor and be done with it. |

Wouldn't this fit better in the Libya thread? There is already a discussion of the legality of the operation there. |

Isn't it his right as president to authorize military action for less than ninety days?
That's what Clinton did- more than once I might add. |

No, because this is only one of many reasons BO stinks and should be impeached.
Besides, Biden agrees.
In fact, so does Obama who, on Dec. 20, 2007, said:
Quote: |
The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation. |

An excellent find, Space Bar. But Biden says:
Quote: |
The President has no Constitutional authority to take this nation to war against a country of 70 million people, unless we're attacked or unless there is proof we are about to be attacked. |
Libya has not 7 million people. |

We've known this for a long time:
A Democrat can impulsively behave like a Republican with impunity
Far Right whackos=compromise
Middle left proposals=SOCIALISM
the irony reaches a height when products of socialism argue against it |

A couple of things: Biden was not talking about Libya, but about Iraq. (I know, it doesn't have 70 million, either.)
What does the population have to do with the constitutionality of it anyway? If it were wrong in Iraq, it is wrong in Libya, too. |
