Can you believe Hillary Clinton said this? I hope it comes back to haunt her big time.

Actually, I appreciate her saying it. She can't make that vote go away, no matter what explanations about her intentions/beliefs about it she puts forward. She's basically saying to people who insist that she has to say the words they want her to say that she won't and they should move on to other concerns. I think she was disingenuous in her initial justifications, but at least she's trying to be consistent now. It may cause her to fall short in the end, but I'll have a little more respect for her.

*Oh, I'm so mad at her!*

This is what the electorally-weak left-wing opposition to the war will say.

Those who believe the war would have worked but the execution was bad, which includes not only many Democrats but also swing-vote Republicans, will appreciate this statement. Woland already said it; she can no longer be accused of dancing around the issue.

This is a good time to make this statement although it might be further confirmation that Hillary is as poll-watching and pundit-responsive if not more so than her husband was.

I would echo those comments and add, we don't need any more politicians of this ilk at the helm. Pure automaton, poll weather widgets. Not of voice but of dressing, not of intelligence but of snake charming skill, not of the simplicity of what is right for all but of the complexity of the political jungle.

Hilary, has my vote as a woman. She doesn't have my vote for all else....
Whatever, she sure isn't a free thinker or a saviour or even as her husband, a concensus builder. I don't know what she is....and that is precisely her problem for me (but luckily for her, not for many others who will embrace message and not meaning. ).

Senator Clinton is a very bright woman of many accomplishments, but she is not presidential material. Like many, she supported the wrong war.

There is an old story/quote from one of the French revolutions ('89, '30 or '48...I've forgotten which). A 'leader' is standing on the street and sees a crowd rush by and says, "There go my followers. I must find out where they are going so I can lead them".

When there is no real crisis, it isn't a big problem to have a president who reads the polls and does what the public wants. In a real crisis, like in '03, when the public cannot have all the information, it is vital that people in positions of power and responsibility exercise leadership and do what they think is right for the country's future, not just right for their personal political gain. Hillary failed in '03.

I've respected her in the past and will probably respect her again in the future, but I don't think she deserves to be president.
