I can go to google.ca .kr .au are the schools hating on the US now or what? I am in Changwon by the way... What's it like in your school? |

Naver and Daum don't want to lose control of the Korean search audience.
This is not a democracy.
Can you use yahoo? |

You mean you can't click on "Google In English?"
I can't seem to get the same search preferences in Google Korea. Maybe that's what it's about -- to keep students from pulling up bad photos.
Heck, it's kind of dumb. All they have to do is go to a popular Korean site like www.passo.co.kr and click on the motorcycles link. Then go down and click on the racing girls link. |

My Gyeonggi-do tech high school has Yahoo blocked on my computer (not on the computer of the Korean teacher who sits next to me in the teachers' office...) I have no trouble accessing Google or MSN, etc., however... |

Well at least thats good news!
As for the internet limitations...they can be annoying! Perhaps you could ask your supervisor why google is blocked...he will then tell you the i-provider is blocking it at which point you might be dead in the water. If he tells you it is the local IT guy...you may have something to work with.
Then again...reading the news at work might not be a part of your teaching duties... |
