Slam me if this has been covered.
I got a Garmin C340 StreetPilot on clearance from WalMart online.
It's a lot of fun, and potentially useful.
But the nearest major street to my house is xxx Dr. So.
meaning xxx Drive South. The voice which is changeable always says,
"xxx DOCTOR South."
Why would a navigation device confuse the abbreviation DR. doctor and drive? ? |

My guess is that it was translated by someone who isn't a native English speaker, isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and knows nothing about driving/cars/maps - a K-girl?
Apologies to any K-girls out there with cartographic ability. |

You may be on to something.
I just checked the box. Made in Taiwan. |

Ha.
My GPS is an INavi. All Korean, but I figured most of it out on my own, and with help. Totally cool. Love it. I can update it about every 6 months. There is a whole section of the website dedicated to tech-heads like me who love to chat about strange intersection, bad turns, bugs/errors, suggestions, etc. I wish I knew more Korean and could add to it.
Inavi often offers trade-up deals, as well. My GPS has been priceless. |

Sounds fun. It speaks to you in Korean, too?
I'm back in Texas for now, so that would be useless here, but might be cool
for keeping brushed up on the little Korean I know. |
