I live in the heart of Itaewon and every Sunday I haul my ass out of bed in the late morning/early afternoon and meet friends for a late breakfast and a few drinks to talk about the last nights adventures. We usually go to RMT or Wolfhound. Anyone have any other preferences? I like Phillies "works" breakfast but I dont feel like going that far so I'm limiting it to anywhere thats a reasonable walk from Burger King in Itaewon.
RMT: 2 eggs, 3 bacon, fried potatoes, toast and coffee for 7.000won
Wolfhound: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 hash brown patties, fried mushrooms, fried tomatoes, toast and coffee or tea for 9.500won
Anyone know the makeups and prices of the american/english breakfasts at Geckos and Suji's?

The best breakfast in Itaewon is Nashville's. Without it your poll has no legitimacy. |

Nashville's serves freaky "hash browns." What you get is potatoes marinated in a white sauce, but it sure ain't hash browns. |

Forget Patio, a place right across Gecko's. I had the American breakfast there and I got three pieces of so-so bacon, one egg, bread and a few veggies for 10,000 won. |

The flying Pan Blue on the right side of Hamilton is Amazing breakfast. B--chy waitresses on the weekend, but worth it. |

(is that my long lost sock? )
OP, head across the street from the Burger King, march uphill to the Hyatt, and there you will find a breakfast fit for a guru.
As for Philly's, I won't go near the place since they eighty-sixed that bandana-wearing, beer-drinking dog. He was good peeps and the best damn drinking buddy I ever had.

Their breakfast is overpriced and the portions are small. It just doesn't compare to any of the places listed in the poll. Here is my review of the place from another thread:
If you enjoy egg shells in your 14,000 won eggs benedict, I highly recommend this place. Also, if you prefer waiters who take ten minutes to deliver water after pressuring you to buy a 6,000 won juice, this is your place. Maybe you'd also enjoy a place that delivers you a plate of ham instead of the requested salmon. And if you want the host/manger to reply with "So" to any polite complaints you make about the egg shells (about half an egg's shell cracked up in several pieces and distributed throughout your eggs) in your 14,000 won eggs benedict, you will have a great dining experience. The Flying Pan Blue restaurant is just to the left of the Hamilton Hotel. Be sure to get your egg shell-laden dish today! They also offer 11,000-12,000 won pancake dishes with no sides at all! |

I've had a few meals I didn't care for, a small number I've loathed. And as far as I can remember, all of the worst meals weren't 'bad' in the sense of poorly prepared, but something I just don't happen to like and I didn't realise that I (or my host) had ordered it. In no case have I ever not paid for a meal, however little I enjoyed it. (I've gotten discounts when the food was unusually late or there was some extreme foul-up.)
But crushed eggshells in my food would do it.

RMT is my favourite when it comes to bang-for-your-buck, but I've gone to Suji's too, and let me say this: if you've got some money to spend on it, it's worth it.
It was 25,000 for very good pancakes and a latte- a lot of money for breakfast, but again, it's worth it once in a while.
I've heard a little about hotel breakfasts, but don't really know anything about them- could someone (e.g. JongnoGuru) tell more? Where in the Hyatt? What's it like? Price? Any info on other hotels (anyone)? |
