Tried to book tickets to home (USA) for summer. If I leave after the spring semester finishes, I pay about $1500. If I have to teach summer school and leave two weeks later, I pay about $1950.

The problem is, my school will give me no information yet on who has to teach in the summer. And prices keep going up as seats fill. Also, seems pretty stupid to work to make just a tad more pay than I would have saved if I had left early.

Last year, my coworker just up and bought a ticket and said, "Sorry... I've already booked my ticket... can't change it."

I thought he was smart, but they didn't renew him.

Frustrating not knowing what to do. It seems I can no longer book a ticket with an airline without paying it first.
