I'm sure this seems like an odd question but I am a month from my next check and have been out of work this month. It seems as if I have a ton of bills that some how all caught up with me now that I am without work.

First on the list is my apartment. I was told that there was some screw up on my housing contract and that I should not pay rent and that the rent would instead be subtracted from my key money. Now they have recontracted and want me to pay back about 1.8 million.

Second my utility bill was lost last month so I got a double whammy this month, about 400,000.

Three my cell phone bill is pushing the 70,000 won mark and they just sent me a text where they accidentally (?) doubled the amount I owe them on my paper bill which arrived today.

Fourth I have to pay about 70,000 won of internet fees.

Fifth I have the gas bill which hasn't reached 10,000 won yet. But they have threatened to shut me off once before because I let it go over 10,000 won.

Sixth I have to pay travel expenses for my visa run, which will be reimbursed minus the hotel, once I begin work.

Seventh, apparently my faxed forbearance forms never reached my student loan providers. I guess I could have assumed this based on the way they kept sending me threatening emails but never responded to a single question I asked them in reply to their emails, i.e. "Did you receive my forbearance paperwork?". These guys really really get me going... wow... I feel like I'm on another planet whenever I try to talk to them Rolling Eyes

How would you prioritize these? My girlfriend says that the apartment fee is not a biggy because it is sooo big. She says that they'll understand that I am waiting for my next job. Taking her advice so far has what led me to allow the other bills to stack up so high though... on the positive side they are all in her name and she does owe me a bit of money... Smile

It's freaky, I feel like such a gimp. My first year I saved $10,000 but since I got the full time university student girlfriend I haven't saved a dime, if anything I have gone into a bit of debt. Especially considering I made 50% more money the first quarter of this year than I did last year.

So, yeah, help me prioritize. Rolling Eyes

I don't understand why you have to be responsible for their mistake. Talk to them and see how you can resolve this slowly.

They normally cut you off in the third month... but if you can pay back one month's worth, they will keep things working for you.

Your paper bill is not the same as your text bill... your paper bill is only up until the last billing period, so what you have used this month is not counted, whereas the one they messaged you with is far more up to date.

Again, pay back one month they will keep it working.

10K and they cut you off? BS!

Well... this should be a priority...

Do you not have anyone at home who can deal with this with them for you?

The apartment fee needs to be worked out somehow....

Well... the more you earn, the more you spend. Typical...

Nobody here can really say. Different companies are differently lenient.

All you know is:

(A) you need to do that visa run if you ever hope to pay anything back

(B) you don't want them seizing your key money

Other than that, all you can do is call each company and plead with them and figure who is willing to let you slide and who isn't and what you're willing to live without.

But also, if you're spending all this money on some university girl, you should really change tactics. Don't you know university girls here are impressed just by the fact that you don't live with your parents?
