Hey peeps,
I'm going to be moving to Nowon-gu in a matter of days, and like many of you, one of my main priorities is to find a gym to workout in so you can relieve the stress of the day.

Also, is it usual to find a gym that offers heavy lifting and martial arts? I hear California Wow fitness is good, but is there one near Nowon?

I've been searching here and the net for a while and could'nt find anything useful, perhaps you guys could help me out?

Thanks in advance!

Dan

PS: also, anyone on this board live in or near Nowon? would love to meet new people.

hey Daniel, I live in Nowon as well; there are no big centres that im aware of, but there are always a selection of weight/cardio gyms; if you've learned to read some Korean, the word "Health" is usually displayed largely; they refer to a basic gym as a "health club", and prices are usually 60,000w in the nowon area, but significantly cheaper if you sign on for 3, 6, or 12 months.
As for martial arts, Tae Kwon Do,Hapkido, and Kumdo are around every corner, but if you're looking for others, it can be tough to find.

Hey White Tiger,
thanks for the advice. I'll prolly have to sign up at a gym and a martial arts school. oh well, best of both worlds =P

We should def. hook up one of these days over there. There's a place called the "Red Dragon" I reckon? we could hang out there sometime in the future.

There's a live bar called "Dragon Bar" which you probably mean; always a few foreigners in there. Not too many pub-style places to hang out in nowon otherwise!
PM me, and let's grab a drink some day cheers.
