I can't tell completely from the article, but I hope this guy isn't Korean cause we'll never hear the end of it.
In summation, today, the invention of a type of massless thruster/engine based on photons was invented by one Dr. Young K. Bae. If you don't know the importance of this, think of virtually fuelless spacecraft and rockets. Instead of taking tons of liquid fuel, you can power a satellite or possibly spacecraft up to near-light speed with maybe hydrogen or fission fuel.
Anyway, the guys name sounds korean but I have yet to see a pic. If they made such a big deal out of frakkin Hines Ward... |

It takes a special personality to look at an article suggesting interstellar travel is closer than ever, and to conclude "I hope it wasn't a Korean..." |

Well, a quick scan of the science section in Naver news shows no articles about it. In fact, it doesn't look like big news internationally either. yet.

Here's a pic. Looks Korean enough. The name seems very Korean, but sometimes Chinese names can be a bit Koreanish. Maybe the K stands for Kevickstein for all we know. |

It's not even on Digg.com yet.
It's really sad, but I think that cum-slurping Anna Nicole and Britney Spears are making more headlines than this.
At the moment, this doesn't look to be interstellar in scale, but more for micro thrusters on satellites.
However, other than a proper reactor (fusion, fission, antimatter), I don't see why this couldn't be scaled up. The important thing is showing that pure light can be used as propulsion.
Also, just joking about him being Korean. You know that if the k-media latches onto this, we will not stop hearing about it He'll be doing KEB bank ads with footballs and *beep*. |

I think the op was hinting that if a Korean has actually come up with something so cool you will never hear the end of it.
We all know how wonderful Hangul is. |
