As I mentioned earlier, I had a misunderstanding with a student over her giving me a gift of peppero two class periods before our class, and she whispered something about not telling the class. I thought she wanted me to give out the peppero, because I thought it was for the children, not for me, an adult. I tried to sort things out with the student, but the student was rude and belligerent. Later, when she was rude during class, I had to put my foot down, and later explained to a friend of hers in another class that it was a simple misunderstanding. Anyway, there are always two sides to a story, and children have their moods.

Anyway, I acted as if nothing happened. She and two other students ended up with the highest grades. She did very well, and I didn't want to risk being biased and figured she was close enough to the highest score possible like the other two, so I gave it to her. I also treated the class to some life savers. She generally had a better attitude and she and a couple of other students praised how I make their lives easier in class and I don't put so much pressure on them.

I enjoyed giving out life savers to several of my classes. Normally, our hagwon frowns upon giving out to treats, but for me they are just kids, and we're done with finals. I believe in giving kids a break. I also gave them a vocabulary test that was easy, and focused more on them understanding them based on context rather than being rigid and giving them the expected hard ones we are told to give. I prefer my students learn and understanding, rather than just being tough for no reason.

^ Confused Is there a point of contention somewhere in your post that I missed?

Maybe if I had read Part I it would be more clear to me.
