There's a fornication list but for those of us thinking these days about getting married and having kids there's the wider consideration of lasting attraction, personality and character, chemistry and compatibility, a sense of rightness about shacking up long term with this, that or the other person.

My Marriage List:

Reese Witherspoon
A wonderful woman who is already happily married with kids but things were to change I'd marry her in a minute, the very day I first meet her, like some people used to impulsively do sometimes way back when.

Jewel Kilcher
Not just her music, which moves me greatly, or her looks, which I consider adorable, but her personality, mannerisms, deep thoughts, ideas and overall presence is very attractive, making me think I'd be very happy with her. Some concerns on the domestic front though, as I sense she might be more invested in the artist way of life, and my role in that isn't so easy to visualize.

Rachel Weisz
I feel so connected to this actress, to her portrayal of depth plus simplicity, emotional in a mature open flowing sort of way, not overly inhibited, yet not flighty, the sort of woman I feel I could laugh with while washing the windows, take out to the opera, and wake up next to full of just as much lust as the night before.

Kate Winslet
Her poise is matched by her sincerity, like a princess unaware of her crown, and the attraction is incredible. I can easily visualize my entire life with her, and even the bad moments have a sense of charm when imagined. She epitomizes so much that I like, though I'd have to be careful because she has facial expressions a lot like my high school sweetheart whom I dated for four years. The problem of projection.

Nelly Furtado
When she talks, what she says, how she says it, everything is what I like: vibrant and so positive, open yet value-centred, grounded but fun-loving, well-adjusted but sensitive and meaningful. Am not so excited about her recent image change with her last album, a bit forced into a mold not so natural for her, but I suspect she'll return to what came more naturally to her. I imagine she and I could raise wonderful children, and be quite happy. Her sexiness exudes from her character first and foremost, but part of it might be her Portuguese heritage, as I've been attracted to more than one person I've met who're likewise from that country: talkative, assertive, confident, beautiful.

---

Some candidates have simply kept aging in the last decade or two since I first idealized them as ones I'd want to be with long term, like Helen Hunt, Robin Wright, Diane Lane, Vanessa Williams, Sheryl Crow, Anna Quindlen, even Steffi Graf and Ashley Judd, though both are just a bit older than me and I would if they were to become single and wanted more kids, assuming they are somewhat like I imagine them being.

Not a bad wish list, but almost any successful career women in the entertainment field must be difficult to relate to as a life-partner in real life because of professional demands and media scrutiny - even more than EFL teachers in Korea...

And while an EFL teacher in Korea is lucky to make 29 million won a year, Reese Witherspoon is up to 29 million dollars per film. You may have a shot with her though -

On November 10, 2005 Witherspoon responded to critical news reports of her marriage counseling. "In what capacity is working on yourself or your marriage a bad thing? What marriage isn't a journey? ... Nobody's perfect ... We all have our own set of problems," she said on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The next month, she said separately, "We are all on the edge, emotionally or psychologically."[8]

On June 21, 2006 Witherspoon sued the tabloid Star for running a "fictional" story on a third pregnancy that claims she is hiding the news from producers of her upcoming films.[9]On October 30, 2006, Witherspoon and Phillippe announced that they have decided to formally separate after seven years of marriage. [10] On November 8, 2006, Witherspoon filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. In her petition she sought joint legal custody of their two children and sole physical custody, with visitation for Phillippe...

Marriage is a primitive custom and the sooner it's done away with the better.

I think that most people by nature really need to get married, but the way modern materialistic society has supposedly progressed, it's very difficult for an ordinary person to maintain a family even from an economic standpoint.

Add to that financial pressure some radical feminist and atheistic "scientific" propaganda against family tradition/ sacred marriage, and you're left with a lot of single parents, bazturds, abortions, orphans, alcoholics, STDs, eating disorders, compulsive gamblers, and suicides ...

Er, what was the topic? Embarassed

After 2 years of dating, my k-girl is dead-set on us marrying, or breaking up, and I've wavered. I have a difficult time giving up my freedom and free-time. I'm in my mid/late 30s. She's in her early 30s.

I would much rather wait, but she's tired of waiting. For the past year, I've put off the date, and needed more time, but she's at her wits end with it.

It's hard for me to spend a full weekend with anyone, let alone a wife one day. I love her, but I'm not sure I'm ready to be her husband. I have a question for the happily-married guys (heck, any married guys) -- should you be really excited to get married, or is it OK to have some worries?

If I had to marry a celebrity it would be Scarlett Johansson. But that would require me to become Mormon in order to make her my second wife, and then I wouldn't be allowed to drink beer. I've been down that road before...

If you make a good "team", go for it. And a lot of it really IS about teamwork.

After being married for 8 years, I've come to realize that my wife is still a hotty. She has a lot of great qualities, she doesn't do a lot of the things that people on this site complain about K-gals doing...and she doesn't ever spit or slurp noodles or chew with her mouth open!! Razz Razz

Most of all, she doesn't ever read this site!

Baby, this song is for you....

Please don't let me be misunderstood - The Animals

Quote:
Baby, do you understand me now
Sometimes I feel a little mad
But don't you know that no one alive
Can always be an angel
When things go wrong I seem to be bad
But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood...
