Being from North America, I am thoroughly addicted to cooking on either a gas grill bbq or even charcoal briquettes. Is this practice common in Korea? Is there some sort of access to an outdoor courtyard/ etc at your apt to cook outdoors? Cheers.

Go outside your apartment. Fall down. Boom! You're in a sam gyup sal or galbi restaurant. B.B.Q.

yeah. I know. Korea is famous for its barbeque. Still, didn't answer my question... does anybody barbeque at home? I am curious, because I dont want to be limited to cooking everything in a pan/ wok or in the oven (if I even have an oven).

Everywhere sells smallish gas grills for bbqing at home/on picnics. You just sit them on the table and cook and eat straight off them. If you crave an adventure, I suppose you could put it out on the balcony (all bigger apts have them). You probably won't have any place outside your apt to do it, but there are lots of parks that have picnic tables where Koreans bbq.

You won't have any trouble maintaining this part of your lifestyle here. However, a cherry pie will be problematic.
