Anyone considering opening a new bank account here should consider KB Bank. Their bank machines are completely bilingual Korean / English.

I've used other banks in Asia before and if their machines have any English, it's just with basic functions like depositing and withdrawing money. I was impressed yesterday because I could make a money tranfer in English using KB Bank's machine. Nice!

Compare this with my previous bank, Daegu Bank that has absolutely no English on its machines. What a headache! It's not like you can stand there with a Korean / English dictionary while other customers are waiting behind you. Smile

Incorrect, if you use the English version when withdrawing money you automatically get a receipt. In Korean you have the option of choosing.
*I love being pedantic*

Wow, if you're that easily impressed, you're gonna "come" in your pants when you first use the bill-paying machines at KB.

Dev, I think we'd all be much more impressed if you finally learned Korean.

Why not? You'd take so long at the ATM they'd just assume you're Korean.

About the KB bank ATMs, I did love them until they overhauled the system about two months ago and, as of the last 5 times I checked, no longer allow withdrawals from my American bank card. For that I curse the entire system. I can learn a few Korean words a lot easier than I can trek around Seoul finding a decent ATM in a time of need..

The following was Tomato's outstanding post on learning Korean, where Dev and his inanities are proof:

I can't prove that learning Korean makes you happy,
but I can prove that learning Korean and happiness correlate.

For evidence of this, look no further than this message board.
Find any thread having to do with a grammar problem in Korean.
Then find any Koreans-are-so-dumb-why-do-they-put-corn-on-pizza thread.
List all the contributors' names on both threads.
I bet you 10 to 1 that you won't find a single name on both lists.

Like any correlation, this correlation can be interpreted three different ways.
Either learning Korean makes foreigners happier (A causes B),
or happier foreigners learn Korean (B causes A),
or a third factor causes foreigners to learn Korean and be happier (C causes A and B).
Which interpretation do YOU suggest?

Full English service at certain KEB ATMs, also. Even in poor residential neighborhoods.

Why would you need to withdraw from your American account? Any won I need is kept here. The only money I send back home is pure savings.

I like how there are 4 ways to access your account: your bank card, your bank book, your cell phone, and your finger print.
