| If you've got a computer and internet at home, I'd use skype instead. I talk to people back home a LOT, and about $15 worth of credit lasted for about 3 months |

| I use a card called Leaders. It is 13,000 won and I get about four hours on the one card. I have bought them in Itaewon before and also in the small town I live in at small grocery stores. |

Me too. You get something like 4 hours for 12,000W. You can get them in the small convenience stores in Itaewon. |

| Leaders gives you about 353 minutes or so it says, but you lose some minutes along the way. Although it is better than Best USA, for the same price. I can get it here in Suwon for 12,500 which is much cheaper for me than Itaewon when you count the travel time too. There are a bunch of cards that are similarly priced for similar minutes, go with the internet calling if you can stand talking from your computer. |

I use the phone card from Kangsan in Busan. Get almost 10 hours calling from landline to landline and over 5 hours if you use your cell to call a landline. It's 30,000 won. Here's a link on how to get it:

I usually use Ace One.
I get about 600 minutes or so (to Australia) for W30,000 (even more minutes to the USA).
You can probably get them somewhere in Seoul etc, but if you're not in a big city (like me) the only option is from the internet.
If you can get a Korean friend to order it for you (unless you read Korean), you can get lots of different cards from www.550card.co.kr
Or you can try www.needstobemet.com (it only sells two different cards - but at least it's in English). |

| Find out where the Pakistani grocery stores are in your area. There are a lot of them in Itaewon. These guys sell reliable cards with amazing rates like 350 minutes for 15,000 won. It's hard to recommend a specific card to you because there are so many and who knows what the store near you has. Best to find the store first and compare what they have by looking at the posters advertising the cards. *** One piece of advice, make sure the cards have NO CONNECTION FEES. Some cards have connection fees which drain a lot of time from your card. Good luck! |

I never bought a phone card the entire time I was in Korea. I used internet phone. Despite what people think, the person on the other end doesn't need a computer...you can call their phone. If they do have a computer, it's free if you use MSN Messenger (and you have video too!)
This is the site I used: http://www.pccall.com/index.asp?referid=iscom
It's cheaper than calling long-distance within North America. About a buck for an hour. |

Hi,
I believe that I provide the best phonecards in Korea.
When you buy a phonecard, you must check what increments it charges you. Too many phonecards are charging you with increments of 3 minutes. That means, even if you use 1.5 minutes you will get charged for 3 minutes. Likewise, if you use 4.5 minutes it charges you 6 minutes.
However, my phonecard charges you with increment of 1 minute and there is no connection fees.
The rate to the US, for example, is 44 won/minute from a land-line phone while 86 won/minute from a cell phone.
For more info, email me at [email protected]

My phone card i purchased online gives me 720 minutes for 20US dollars and the increments are in 3 minutes and no connection charge.
even though i am charged in 3 min increments i think 12 hours is pretty good for 20 bucks |
