|

Cause he played a gay dude.
| Quote: |
A radical Baptist church in Kansas known for picketing the funerals of soldiers who perished in Iraq said it intends to protest Heath Ledger's memorial service with signs claiming the actor died and is in Hell because he played a gay character in Brokeback Mountain.
Shirley Phelps-Roper of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka said that she and other members will picket Ledgers United States memorial services, not those held in his native Australia.
You cannot live in defiance of God, she said. He got on that big screen with a big, fat message: God is a liar and its OK to be gay.
A press release circulated by the church references Leviticus 18:22 in the Bible, which states that thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Heath Ledger is now in Hell, and has begun serving his eternal sentence there, the Westboro Baptist announcement says.
Started 1955, the Topeka, Kan.-based church has conducted over 34,000 peaceful demonstrations opposing the homosexual lifestyle, according to their Web site, GodHatesFags.com.
The organization runs various Web sites, including GodHatesAmerica.com and others that condemn lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, Muslims, Roman Catholics and Jews as well as certain nationalities, according to Wikipedia. |

| How do they know he is in hell? Maybe he wrote his name on one of those little Jesus cards that come with Chick's tracks and was saved...and then OD on sleeping pills. |

Maybe Fred Phelps knows Ledger is gay because he hired him as an escort after watching Brokeback Mountain.
(Any opportunity to expose these self-hating homophobes for what they are.) |

It's dumb stuff like this that makes me despise the media for it's existence. Why do we want to know about this pitiful group of idiots and them spewing their guts out about this? Would Al-Qaeda be the force it is without it's manipulation of the media? Would America and Britain be living in fear if it wasn't for the media, from whatever they want to tell us we should be "afraid" of? Awful rubbish, and to think Media studies at uni is seen as a cop out degree...............
Rant over. |

I'm not generally in favor of capital punishment, but with the WBC there's no question at all that they should be killed by the Federal Govt. Free speech? Screw it, kill them. So openly taking delight in the suffering of others for ideological purposes should be a crime and the punishment - in extreme circumstances such as the WBC subhumans - death.
I'd love to hear what the legions of Christian hagwon jockeys have to say about the WBC, taking as they do a literal interpretation of the book.
Hopefully, since they've announced they're to show up, someone will externimate those parasites at the funeral and do the universe a massive favor in the process. Maybe not though - atheists LOVE the WBC! |

i read about these twerps yesterday night how they celebrated in the suffering caused by 9/11, the london terror attacks, the tsunami and other such events. I dont understand how they can survive in a country like the states with these kinds of views.
they seem to exist solely for the reason of spreading hate. |

While WBC is hate-filled and misguided, they have a right in the USA to free speech. Many people argue this, but these situations are necessary evils in order to preserve free speech and opinion.
They shouldn't be executed or attacked. They should be countered with more free speech, rational speech. |

Unfortunately "religion" does not listen to rational speech. The whole kaboodle is based on an entity that cannot be proved or disproved. Different groups believe in different bits of the "great book". They are using the media in the same way everyone else does. Appealing to the lowest common denominator. "Paris Hilton says Britney is a good mum" Who gives a sh*t? They can both die horribly from what I care. Even then there'll be more to replace them. |
