I am recently married and on a F-2-1 visa. I was told that if I change jobs I only need to inform the MoE and not immigration. Does this mean that I don't need to go through the prdeal of getting my transcripts shipped over, or I should still do this anyway?

Just changed jobs and immi didn't even want anything from me...just reported my new address with them.
My university, however, filed my papers with MoE and whomever else they wished. I did give my univ. certified copies of my degrees and official transcripts...

| Yeah, you don't need to tell them .. unless you are going to do more than one job, then you will need to tell immi and add the second job to your ARC. |

On an F2-1? Sorry, you dont neeed to tell immi anything. Nothing needs to be added to your ARC on an F2-1. |

Only thing you need to tell them is a change in address. They don't care about your jobs, but they do care about your change in address.

I was told by immigration that you don't need to register a change of address with them if you're going to do it at your local -gu office. One or the other I guess. |

Huh? As an F2 (chaing to F5) holder, I have no jobs on my ARC. |

Captain, I got the F2, but what are the bennies of the F5? Should I think about it at some point?
Not to hijack the thread (too much), but what's the basic deal with that? |

On an F5 you own your visa, not your wife. In case of anything like divorce, you keep your visa. You dont need to ever renew it either so no more trips to immigration. No need to get multiple entry stamps. You get to stand in line with Koreans at customs when coming back to Korea or leaving it. And finally, you get to vote in elections. So far its only been local elections, and I was able to vote for mayor of Seoul for example. Theres talk of allowing F5s vote in more important elections too, in the future. |

I believe its 2 years. Could be 3. Not sure.
Not really a hassle. It takes a bit longer to get it, I think I waited 3-4 weeks. |
