What would this model be like?
Would you say Sempron is okay? Is it worse than Pentium 4?
Please tell me about Sempron. Is it upgraded Celeron?
Samsung NT-G10/MS340
AMD Sempron3400+/512M ram(DDR2)/250G/DVD-SuperMulti/17"(SXGA)/onboardVGA/(b,g)/XP Home
I really need the wide screen.
Thanks. |

I don't think that is a widescreen.
Sempron is AMD's version of the Celeron/Pentium3. It runs a little hotter and is less battery efficient than its Intel counterpart. But if performance is not your first priority and cost is, AMD is the way to go especially for desktops. |

I'm not a fan of the widescreen laptops, if you plan on using it at home mostly. You don't see the full page on most smaller laptops, and have to scroll a lot.
Wide is not necessarily better.
By the way, I heard it's actually CHEAPER for the companies to sell you a widescreen LCD than a traditional one. |

I don't need anymore than the two pc's I have at home. Laptop is for in-class media, so kids need to see at least some of the characters' expressions (aka Barney) from a few meters away ... I can squeeze through with 15" but then, a 17" has so much more effect.
I'm trying not to be too fussy, so have my eyes out for a 15, too. |
