Well, on my 3rd cable now. Am really ticked. Everyplace sells these cheap-a$$ Chinese cables by Combs, or the same thing packaged in another package called Inter-something. Ugh...

I'm trying to wire my VGA/RGB out from my computer to my 42" HDTV. I have a little Samsung cable that works fine -- problem is that it's only about 2 meters. I need 8 meters to string it across the room.

So far, of the two Combs brand cables I've bought, one had lots of ghosting/bleed, and the second was missing a pin required for the higher resolution to work properly. The third cable, which I made a special trip for today (the 2nd brand), had all of the pins, but not all of them work, apparently. It can't pass the 1920x1080 resolution (probably means a pin/broken wire issue).

I am now under the impression that these cheap Chinese cable brands must be the outlet for cables that don't pass muster at the factory. Generally, they are OK if you are just making a simple A to B connection, but something involving a lot of pins (like VGA) is a different story.

One other possibility -- the thicker cables seem to have two "knots" at either end before the end. Is there something in there? Some kind of filter preventing the transmission of the high-level signal? I'm clueless.

I am mighty upset. Is Youngsan open on Sundays? If so, what hours? Know where I can get a good VGA cable? Thanks.

Yongsan is open most sundays. Go there and try the 선인 building, where the outdoor market is. Inside there's a couple of good accessory shops which should have what you need.

I bought it from one of the shops between Sinyoungsan station and the tunnel. I wonder if they're open?
