I just took a trip to Canada with North West Airlines (Seoul to Tokyo to Detroit to Toronto).
Since I already have a air miles account with Korean Air, I thought I might transfer the miles earned on this flight (since North West is a partner) to my Korean Air air miles account.
Korean Air told me "Oh, you can transfer the points earned on your flights between Toronto and Detroit, but we can't credit you for any flights into or out of Japan. I'm sorry, but this is the rule."
I wonder who made the rule and why. My guess is it has to due with Korea's neverending feud with Japan. Thanks Korean Air! Thanks a lot! |

I fllew Korean Airlast year, but I keep my miles with Northwest. I flew last year from Incheon to Atlanta non-stop, and then I only have an hour flight from there. If I don't fly that route, I probably have 3 stops. |

it might be better to sign up with northwest worldperks and then credit any miles received on korean air, delta, et al.
asiana seemed fine for short flights ...never taken them on the long haul. |

I have no issues with Korean Air but then again I flew Air Canada for most of my life so I guess that's not much of a compliament to them. |

KoreanAir is not as bad as most chinese liners.
I almost cried when I forgot to book my return to Seoul with KoreanAir. Do not eat the food on any chinese liner.
Some sort of pork....they say. |

I think I get what you mean (mainland China, right?). But nowadays, you really have to be specific. For example, Cathay Pacific is excellent, but they're from Hong Kong.
Air China is also good. I believe they're from Hong Kong too. |

I think you're confusing Air China with China Air. The former is owned and run by the PRC while China Air is a Taiwanese Airline that is supposed to be pretty good. |
