I want to teach EFL for a few hours each day in exchange for free accomodation. I don't need a salary. I would prefer accomodation near Seoul (like around Suwon or Anyang). I have 8 years experience teaching EFL in Korea and have a MA in TESOL.
I can teach a few hours per day for free. All I'm asking is for a room (with a kitchen I can access) to sleep in and study. I'm taking some distance courses and I need to stay in Korea.
I'm looking for a place for EITHER the end of June to late August OR mid-July to end of August.
Where could I find such an arrangement?

I would think one hour per day would be enough. |

Here you go.. The SEARCH function's working fast today.
Maybe you could contact them and see if they will want someone, or they might have friends who are willing to offer a similar deal..

There are homestay agencies that will set you up with someone who will provide you with accomodations in return for one or two hours a day (sometimes less) of English for them or their children... For a female, the best set up is to find a female living alone who can give you your own room... I almost did this once.. The woman was a businesswoman about 40 and never married who had her own huge 3-bedroom place... She wanted 2 or 3 hours a week plus half utilities... I ended up not doing it b/c I picked up a boyfriend and didn't want to deal with the culture issues... I know others who have stayed with families and enjoyed that as well.... If you can find a homestay agency it should be easy... Just check out the place first and make sure you have your own room... |

You've been here 8 years and you can't afford a one-room? Yikes. |

You have 8 years experience in Korea and need to ask how to do this?
Try a part time adult place. And get money off them to pay your bills. If you don't mind working 4 hours a day I'm sure that you can find a place that will do this for you. Put your resume on WorknPlay, EnglishSpectrum and this page and then sit back and wait. You'll get so many offers that you could pick and choose. |
