If you are looking for info on Changwon, try the search function. Type in 'changwon' and see what turns up. THEN come on here and ask for further information.

Do you own the place? Last time I was there the service was terrible. I prefer the one in Busan. You get bigger portions and No one says NO to you because the waitress thinks thats more then enough for you.

I don't own the place but I know the owner quite well...the one in busan and the one in changwon were owned by the same person up until 2 months ago so there you go, the bar girl might have just had a crappy day or something....can't judge a place on only one visit I suppose.

I like it as I have lived here a long time and know many of the people who do go there. I am aware for an outsider coming in at times it can be a little tough but most people are very friendly if you make the effort and people(including myself) would recipricate in kind....

Never had a problem with service....but I have a couple of people say that. What can i say, service isn't always consistent...

If you are looking for something a little more chilled out IP is just down the road(across the lane from changwon hotel in the same building as the GS25) and has a smaller and perhaps more mature clientele...

Both the IP and OBriens are great. Its good to have both of them there as this allows for a change of scenery now and then.

Im surprised about the complaints regarding OBriens. The guy that runs that place is a very good bloke and as mentioned, perhaps someone just had a bad day at the office there. The people that frequent OBriens are young and wild and are generally a good bunch. I think it would not be completely inaccurate to label OBriens as the teachers joint and the IP as the Engineers joint (though this is just a generalization and may no longer be the case).

Changwon is also a fairly nice place: not too big and not too small. Its also close to Busan (pop. 4 million) if you ever feel that you need to get away to a place where you can lose yourself.

I am on my way to Changwon in 3 weeks. Smile This is my 1st time going to Korea, but traveled Europe for 3 years and am about 10 years more experienced than the typical fresh college grad which puts me pushing my mid 30's. Been to the O'Briens website and it looks like a good place to eat cooked English food at night after work and hang out to meet other English speaking wayfarers.
If anyone in the Changwon area wants to let me in the know, I will be coming around the mountain Friday evening on January 5th.
Have a nice weekend everyone,

Obrien's and IP's in Changwon are really cool places. Last night, I went to a small very friendly place (I think it is called, "Joyces", don't remember) in Masan that plays a great deal of European techno music. Ultra cool place to go out with your friends or co-teachers.
