| I'm considering adopting a dog. However - I'm wondering (and asking you pet owners) how do you care for your pet when you are working? - I'm teaching at a public high school that has normal public slave hours (9-5)..... |

| How stable is your situation? Are you planning on staying in Korea long-term? If not, are you sure you'll be in a position to take your dog back home with you? And do you live in an animal-friendly building? If not, I think you should wait to adopt a dog. |

Its all about training your dog to hold it. We hae the same schedule and she's fine. The first bit will be hard if you are house training the dog. Just be ready to do a lot of cleanup. We trained our dog and in less than a week, she was doing pretty well. She hasn't gone in the house in years now.
The mostimportant thing is that you ae committed to flying your dog home with you and making the dog a part of your family. DON'T get a pet, if you aren't willing to make hte financial and time commitments to it. |

The most important thing is to make sure your apartment is pet-friendly. I know several people who have pets and they never have a problem, so you shouldn't have any major problems.
As for the bolded part, I think the Pakistani man I met on the bus who told me he works 11 hours a day 6 days a week (sometimes on Sunday too) would be a better definition of slave hours |

Why do you want a dog?

Personally, I don't think it's anybody's business to critique "why" I want a dog. But it's for the obvious reasons - I'm used to having around a furry companion. I enjoy the company of animals and they make me happy.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. |

| Mine stays on the balcony as long as it's not freezing. Keeping it in a confined area works the best. He has a blanket and water and some things to chew on. But I think he sleeps most of the day. |
