Not wanting your tenant to have a dog is racist? (Is English your first language?) |

Sounds more like the OP just didn't embellish and give the ajomma's life story. It's also not mentioned whether she's the landlord, although it's the most likely. |

I didn't mean that the agima is racist for not allowing the dog. she just hates forgieners in general. The dog was in the apartment for almost 6 months and she never knew until a vaccination notice came in the mail. she is the craziest person i have ever seen in Korea. She is one of the resons why i did not resign with the school |

i understand, the ajumma is racist, looks for anything to complain because your friend is a foreigner. i have two dogs, they are really good about barking, only a bit when people get on and off the elavater.
the lady downstairs complains about anything she can about me. other neighbors have dogs that bark all night, but she complains about mine, she even told security there was dog doodoo outside of my door (impossible, as they are always inside or with me, and i think i would notice some magically appearing doodoo)
she even went so far as to complain because the inside of my home was dirty, meaning she either entered my house illegally (as i never invited her in) or she was lying. when that happened, my school called her and told her off, calling her out about complaining about my home being dirty, they said flat out, if it is, it is his business and not yours, it is his home, not yours, and second, either you are lying or you broke into his house, which is it? they said next time they will call the police for harassment and unlawfully entering my home.
she has never complained again.
the point, play hardball with her. that is BS. or heck, tell her it is gone, and just keep it. |

How bad can she be then? If only they all were leashed and trained. |

It's a terrible situation for the dog, but why, why, why, why don't people consider their living arrangements before they get animals????! |

Indeed. You're not in Korea forever. Things can change at any time. Every few months we see people begging others to take their dog. Can you not live a single year without owning a fkin' dog? I thought pet ownership was an act of love. To me, it's evidence of selfishness. You need something around you to suck up to you. And a vet's needle is, often as not, what's waiting for this dog after a year of ownership. |

In Korea (and most other places), tenants don't have the right to keep animals against their landlords' wishes. Unless you have your own place or are in a very stable situation, you shouldn't get an animal in the first place. A lot of animals are thrown out into the streets and/or killed because people don't think first and some crazy neighbor complains. Unless you can afford to pick your neighbors, it's safe to assume that at least one of them will be a crazy animal hater. |
