I leave for Korea in the next round of the school year ( september). my question is Iam very interested in tackling Japanese. I figured the intruction would be better in Korea then here, do any of you use Japanese in Korea? Do many Koreans speak it?
My next question is I have done extensive research on working in Korea ( as everyone is expected to do before they come). whats one aspect of work or living that you didnt come across through research or a person telling you before you came???? |

Japanese instruction in Korea in Korean is pretty good, and Koreans are pretty quick at it so when they put their mind to it it only takes about a year to get mostly proficient. The average person doesn't know Japanese except for a few annoying sentences that they like to rattle off in the same manner that you'd get somebody back home say un petit peux when you ask them if they know French when they'd be better off just saying that they don't know.
You can find a lot of Japanese students in Seoul but only if you go to the right part of the city. Busan is the better location to find Japanese and Japanese speakers per capita though, so you might want to go there instead. |
