Hi
I need to get a visa renewal for 6 months or so, and also a multiple entry visa. I'm not in Seoul, but in a city where the immigration officers come every 2 weeks to the city hall. Will they take my passport and post it back to me, or is it just a couple of stamps and a see ya later? I need to know because must get my passport to the chinese embassy for my vacation.
thanks
PS I heard I can get a re-entry permit at the airport before I leave. Is that right? |

what kind of visa?
they will at least need/want to see your passport. for extentions, they didn't keep my passport (for either the E2 or F4)- they just write something on the back of your card. for the multiple entry, they will stamp something in it, and hand it back to you. they do not mail passports- you'll have to go back and pick it up if they have to keep it.
re-entry permit will depend on your citizenship. britons can get them at the airport. don't think canadians/americans can... |

Typically they only check to see that the passport remains valid, stamp the re-entry permit into your passport, update your ARC and send you on your way.
Because you are getting it done at a portable, convenience innigration stop, I can't answer your questions with any certainty.
You can get a re-entry permit at the airport.
30k won, passport, ARC and application for are all that is required.
The office is located in the departures area behind check-in counter "F" and FEFORE you go through security. It is open from 6:30am until 10:00pm. |
