OKay so i just quit my job, and i now have a new job.

the recuiter just told me

"You will have to start your pension again because, you get your pension back after 1 year contract."

Is this the case?? Before I was told that my pension would just keep collecting in the same fund, if i went to a new job.

Is it even possible to collect the pension that I have no because I have quit before one year??

I am canadian by the way.

thanks!

As far as I know, if you and your employer paid into the pension plan, you'll get that money back when you decide to leave Korea for good.

unless ur leaving the country, there's no point applying for pension. It should keep collecting from your new job. Ur recruiter probably didnt understand. It does "start again" as in another school is paying into it and another school is taking it off ur paycheck but the months u were at the other school should still be there.

Might want to call the pension office in ur area and ask them

SO does that mean that the pension keeps going into the same fund?? When I eventually do collect, will I just have one pension account?
Is the pension attached to my ARC card number in anyway?? because i was told i keep the number..

thanks!

it should be going into the same pension fund under ur name.

u will have to show ur ARC when u apply yes along with other forms that need to go along with the process. they'll probably photocopy your ARC and ur airline ticket

Pension is administered by the government and continues even though you may change employers.

I think the recruiter confused pension with severance. Most Koreans mix the two because they are the same word (incorrectly) when they use a dictionary to translate.

Well, I had to sign a paper saying I didn't intend to return. People are allowed to change their plans, though - or so I've heard.
