Ok...can anyone tell me, once and for all, which is the correct place for a SPORTS massage...not a happy ending/rub and tug kind of massage.
I've asked my coworkers, and none of them *seem* to know. My English speaking friends are in the same boat as me...meaning we don't know if we are supposed to go into the places with 1 or 2 barber poles...OR even if the places with barber poles are massage parlors.
Any help would be appreciated!

find a big sauna, they'll most likely have sports massages...if there's more than one bed in the room or a big window into the room, i doubt you'll have a problem

Sports massages are typically located in a nice hotel.

These massage places are employed by professional masseuses.

If you dont' want the happy ending, just tell them in any way you can.

Across the street from the US Embassy, there is a hotel with a sport massage. A fried took me there once. Can't remember the name of the Hotel though.

The barber pole theory, i would forgo if you are looking for a legit massage.

Go to Gangnam, plenty of legit sports massage places. In fact, there was one near where I used to live. Go to samsung station, go out exit 4 and keep walking. On Asam-gil make a left, and there's a sports massage place a few meters up the road.

Also, it's perfectly fine to go into a MASSAGGEE place, but when they ask if you want the extras, just say no. Some of them do give a fine massage.

^I hated that place. My masseuse was good at digging his thumbs into my spine and that was about it. My muscles were still tense and I couldn't lie on my back comfortably for two days.

I tried the massage guy that was mentioned above. He comes to your home with a professional massage table and is very well trained. He does many of the teachers at my university.

Indeed. Expensive though, and it doesn't even compare to what the beach masseurs in Thailand will do to you for a fraction of the price.
