Does anyone know where I could go to buy a drum machine in Seoul? Just for clarification I'm not talking about an electric drumset, that would be too big, and expensive. I'm looking for something that is slightly larger than the surface area of a laptop computer, and has electric pads that can be adjusted to different sounds. If any of you know of a large musical instrument store in Seoul I would appreciate hearing about it. |

Nagwon Sang-ga is the name of the store - more like a music shopping mecca! It is right at the start of Insa-dong which is in Chongro. If you don't know where that is then jump in a cab and say "Pagoda Gong won (Pagoda park)" and then when you get there ask somebody where Nagwon Sang-ga is. |

If you're looking for the type that you will "play" instead of program, Roland makes the best products. I have the SPD-S sampling pad and it is awesome!
Now, anything you buy in Korea will be ridiculously overpriced! I mean ridiculously!
This is due to the incredibly high tariffs on imported products. Musical equipment is usually double the price.
You'd be better off checking out these guys: www.sweetwater.com
They have great service and ship to Korea. The duty tax is not as near as high as what you would pay for the item in Korea.
Otherwise, check out the Nakwon music arcade in downtown Seoul. |

My son picked up a Yamaha DD-55 while we were back in the States this past break and brought it back with him. Nice unit. |
