I need to buy an ipod for someone as a gift.

Where is the best/cheapest place (besides the internet) to go to in Seoul to purchase a very good IPOD? technomart? Yongsan? Apple store?

What should I be asking for, what is a good IPOD?

and where is the apple store in Seoul?

Costco has the best prices without haggling. I read on Dave's someone got a better deal at Yongsan, but they haggled well.

FYI, the 32gb Touch goes for 419,000 at Costco.

There's an apple store in Gangnam next to Kyobo bookstore. Costs something in the area of 220k won for an 8gb nano though, so i'd say hit Costco or Yongsan.

Ok, Thanks for the replies.

The apple store was selling a 8GB IPod Touch for 299,000won. (No case, no adaptor, no coating)

I went to Technomart and found a small "Apple shop" in Technomart who offered me a 8GB IPod Touch, leather case, apple charger/pc connector, apple earphones for 325,000won (after haggling).

I asked another vendor at Technomart and after haggling got a 8GB IPod Touch, leather case, apple charger/pc connector, apple earphones and film coating for 300,000won - so I took it.

There was a guy selling a good one quite cheap on the Buy/Sell/Trade forums - but he is not answering anyone -

Yongsan far and away if you can haggle.

Last weekend I haggled the guy down to 375,000 for a 3rd gen 32g Ipod Touch for my girlfriend. Took about 5 minutes and the only concession I made was to buy the case and screen protector from him at 12,000 a pop.

You got ripped off on the 8gig. Not so much on the price, as it is 199 US and with the conversion + those extras, it would be similar. But the 8 gig blows. It has half of the processing power and is very noticeably slower.

Anyone else who is considering the ipod touch, pay the extra 50-75 bucks and get the 32 gig.

There is an Apple store in Gangnam in the Shinsegae above the Central City bus terminal. It's on like the 4th floor next to a Starbucks in men's casuals. I'm shopping for an IPOD 160gb classic as my 80gb classic was stolen last Friday out of my office while I was using the restroom and we had guys cleaning up a big water mess from the storm. I seen they are a whopping 380,000 won or about $310 here, but around $100 less back home such as on Ebay. I gave $275 for this 80gb classic about 3 years ago at a Walmart. I feel I got my monies worth and had upgrading to a 160gb already in mind as I also use it as an external hard disk, but it still worked and would had sold to one of you for about 150,000. Ah well, I will have to shell out and be more careful next time around. I despise thieves and crooks.

A good rubber tough case for around $60 is the rarest part of my missing IPOD as I didn't see those for sale in Seoul. http://www.theistore.com/images/products/speck/toughskin_n3_side.jpg
