South Korea's Warmest Winter in Century...Or at least from 1904 when they started keeping records. It's amazing that this happened.

The administration said the February average was 4.09 degrees Celsius, 3.34 degrees higher than the average between 1971 and 2000. |

That seems to be quite a change in temperature. I thought it was warmer this year but I didn't realize it would be record shattering. There was another article that talked about how pollutiion in Asia is causing stronger storms in the North Pacific.

With Korea's record shattering winter and the increase in storm intensity due to pollution from countries such as India and China, isn't it time to start cleaning up? What incentives would be needed to push forward a new age of cleaner and safer fuels? It's unfortunate that India and China are now economically hitting their stride now because they are seen as the poster chilldren of environmental irresponsibility when other countries laid the foundation to this mess.... |

I bet the OP expected a more serious audience over here in CE Forum.
Well, just so as not to go against the established grain here...

Jeez, "incentives"?? The situation is sooo beyond that point anymore. Our only hope now is to drag China & India kicking & screaming back to a pre-industrial state. And we mustn't take "no" for an answer.

Yes, very unfortunate. For India & China. The sad (happy!) fact is, we got here first! And if they don't like the restrictions on their pollution levels that I've drawn up, if they feel they can't live that way, then they're free to explore the universe for another planet to pollute. Cus this Big Blue Marble is OUR baby, not theirs.
How about that? |

Truth be known I wrote this while sitting at work with NOTHING to do....
As far as India and China...It's going to be a fun fun time negotiating with them |

Warm, indeed. It was shockingly warm this winter and last. My first winters in Seoul years ago I nearly froze my assets off... in October and November. |

Wow, the lot of you are morons. Anualy temperatures went up by 2/1000th of a degree this year. As well as last year, the year before, and well, the last 100. You are an idiot if you think you can feel two one thousandths of a degree.
Not to mention the fact that it's coming on the middle of March, and it was below ZERO a few days ago. Dolts. |
