Old news now, but Coulter speaking at the Conservate Political Action Conference: "I was going to talk about John Edwards but these days, you have to go into rehab if you say the word 'faggot,' - Video
I guess my question is this: What does she mean? And while I've learned not to take anything Coulter says seriously, the ovation she received for making the slur was somewhat disconcerting.
McCain, Giuliani and Romney (who gave her a glowing introduction and recieved her endorsement at the conference) have all denounced the comment. Coulter's response? Cmon, it was a joke. I would never insult gays by suggesting that they are like John Edwards. That would be mean.
Oh Ann, you're such a joker! |

John was singled out for a personal attack because the Republican establishment knows he poses the greatest threat to their power, said his campaign manager, David E. This is why he will be the next president. They are letting Barack and Hillary take all the real crap, and John Edwards will come out smelling like a rose next summer. |

John Edwards will be the next Dan Quayle or Al Gore: he's just dopey, nice, passive, likeable enough to be vice-president! |

Last election they always got him on two things..
1) He looks too young to be a President.
2) He's a trial lawyer.
Neither I'd consider to be a problem whatsoever.. but quite a few voters last election did last election for whatever reasons.
Personally, if he'd been chosen over John Kerry, I really think that election would have went the other way. |

Awfully hard to prove slander/libel in the US for public figures. The bar is very high. And in many cases, not really worth it. |

Let's not forget her comments at the same meeting last year where she called Arabs ragheads and called for violence against them if they "talk tough". Plus calling for the murder of Supreme Court justices, saying she wished Timothy McVeigh had blown up the New York Times, etc. She's like a parody of the ultra-right except that she's treated as if she were a serious person. |

Edwards is from the South. It might be something if the Republicans run a candidate from the North and the Dems run a candidate from the South. |

I'm LOVE to see Giuliani vs Edwards in 2008.
Two great Presidential candidates in my opinion. |

This is exactly why he will be the next president. He can swing the south, the women, and the moderates, as well as the liberals and the "Octavius Hites." I've liked him since the start, and not just because he went to my alma mater.

Ann Coulter's whole shtick is to out-gasbag liberals. Seems as if she's succeeding. |

I would like to see an example/definition of "gasbag." |
