I recall someone posting a while back about Propecia sold in Korea at something like 50,000 Won + for a month's supply, and a generic version at 40,000 Won. I at that time indicated a generic was available in Thailand in the past but no longer.

Well, was just in Thailand this past weekend and the generic version of Propecia is back on the shelves. It's called Harafin 1 and it cost only around $12 or $13 for a full 30-day month's supply. (The original Propecia sells as a 28-day month's supply.) The price is around 360 - 400 Baht, which by today's exchange rate is around $12 - $13. (The Thai Baht, by the way, has gone from 42 to $1 . . all the way to around 33 to $1 over the past year or so.)

If you need Propecia and you're traveling in Thailand, pick up a year's supply for around $150 - - which would get you only a 3-month's supply in Korea. (A year's supply in Korea will cost you about $670. The difference is almost enough to pay your airfare to Thailand !)

Shop around if you do look for it in Thailand. Some rip-off pharmacies were asking 800 baht for the Harafin 1.

By the way, if you want the original, in Thailand it is sells for about $33 for a box of 28, manufactured in Australia.

Yes, . . or prevention thereof. I have no hair loss problem and had none when I started taking Propecia and using Rogaine (minoxidil) some ten years ago. I started these as a preventative measure, having seen some of my older brothers' hair losses.

Whether these medications are keeping me hair-loss free or it is genetic, I will never know . . . unless I stop taking / using them !

I still have the hair I had in high school (lank and stringy though it may be). I saw when reading CNN that the FDA approved a freaking laser brush. Sounds suspect, but the FDA is 'supposed' to be reputable.

Any word on that? Looking at my Dad, I always think its gonna start any time. So, anybody know about this light-saber?

Not sure about the efficacy of the laser brush. I've seen it sold on Drugstore.com for a few years now.

As for your father's baldness predicting your own: It's actually the guys in your mother's family you should be looking at; baldness is passed genetically along by the mother (from what I've read). So, look to your uncles, grandparents, etc. on your mother's branches of the family tree.
