|
|
Yo guys, here are my picks for the champs league
Milan to barley get by Celic
PSV to upset Arensal....arensal suck
Man U to lay a beating on Lille
Bayern to pass Real (it would be nice to see Beckham play but he prolly won't get selected)
Barca to get by Liverpool, but this is a tough one to call.
Inter to cruise past Valencia
Roma to upset Lyon
Chelsea to dismantle and destroy Porto
Anyone else have any picks?
And does anyone know the time of games on StarSports? |

The Man U v Lille game is on at 4.30am followed by Madrid v Bayern at 6.30am. Actually, these games are on MBC ESPN. The Star Sports I get doesn't show the Champions League. |

Celtic 2-1 Milan
Arsenal 2-0 PSV
Man U 3-1 Lille
Bayern 1-0 Madrid
Liverpool 3-2 Barcelona
Inter 2-1 Valencia
Lyon-1-0 Roma
Porto 2-1 Chelsea
The only game I'm not 100% sure of is the Celtic/Milan game. PSV doesn't stand a chance. |

TVU player has the telecarpi channel for Italian sports but I have no idea when they will show the game or if they will show the game. I'm hoping Starsports or maybe MBC ESPN will replay the games some time this week. |

Liverpool are off 2 a good start, 2 away goals is huge, Barca still have enough talent to score 5 in a game tho.
I watched the Bayern-Real game on replay and Real did awesome, Becks had a great outing.
If terry injuried for a long period of time, then Chelsea are screwed |

What did people think of the ManPoo-Lille game?
Saw no reason for the Lille goal to be disallowed and with the Neville free-kick didn't see the ref blow his whistle though did see him walking off to the side before it was taken.
Was there anything like a crush? It just didn't look that crowded to me in pictures.Maybe something else went on. |

No reason to disallow the goal, the ref doesnt need to blow the whistle if player opts to take it quickly. Ive seen Henry do it with similar effect a couple of times. So absolutely no excuse for the attempted walk-off.
However, there was no foul on Vidic when Lille scored earlier. Had it been vice versa Fergie would have exploded and would still be ranting now |

Both the Lille goal and Man U goal should have been allowed, United definitely got away with one. I didn't see the crush but I think Lille is blaming officals are blaming Man U for distributing tickets earlier. But whatever, there was no riot, fights or major injuries, so it's not a huge deal. |

Sorry, gotta disagree with that. Vidic is clearly pushed in the back as he is about to clear the ball. The Lille player then has an easy header to score. How can this not be a foul? |

Gotta agree...
Vidic was off balance, because he was stretching to head the ball...didn't take much of a push to knock him down, but no push, and he gets his head on the ball...not the striker.
As for the United goal, you can clearly see the ref ask Giggs if he wants 10m...Giggs must've said no, cause the ref hurried to get out of the way. The fault lies with both the Lille defenders in the wall, and the keeper himself. |

Giggs' legitimate goal sets an excellent precedent: hurry the *beep* up arranging the wall in defence of a free-kick. It's a disease on the game.
Re Lille's disallowed goal, I too thought it was harsh as hell, but the replays and expert commentary appear to favor the ref's verdict.
So....all this controversy (Lille nearly walking off, unprecedented at such a high level!) and both decisions are defensible.
