I am going to Korea on March 20.
I will visit a friend and tour some of the country. I plan to stay a month.
I am interested in teaching English but I don't have TEFL and I have not taught English before but my navtive language is English. I have a University degreee in geology. I am retired and I am 59 years old.
Would I be able to get a job teaching English?

You're set. As long as you hae a passport from a native English speaking country (UK, US, Ireland, etc). The only problem you might have is your age, to be honest. YOu'll find aj ob, but it might take you a bit longer. I would look into public schools. They are more likely to hire someone a little more mature.

Korea is so desperate for teachers. They will hire ANYONE with a pulse.

Just be careful about the visa. You can't teach on a tourist visa, and teaching visas usually only come with contracts, often of one year or longer. Korea is indeed desperate for teachers, but it is not worth risking teaching without a proper visa, as I have recently discovered!
