My uni said today that they would visit the Suwon immigration ofice this week to renew my visa. I'm a little concerned because this is the last week to renew and I don't want them to make a mistake. Has anyone else had their school do this for them?

You should go with them just in case, you definintely need to sign the application.... My new uni didn't even know that I could renew in country so don't count on uni's knowing all the rules....

I can sympathize, I'm running around today trying to get paperwork from my old school.... One of the K-teachers talked to immi and was told they don't HAVE TO give me the papers.... What she failed to understand is that if they don't give me the papers I have to leave the country to renew which I can't do and still start Friday..... The new immigration rule changes are great, but it would be nice if schools knew about them... Gotta love Korea....

Suwon immigration usually gives you the ARC back after 5 minutes. Why do you have to wait until Friday?

If I were you, I'd call Immigration to ask them when my visa expires just to make sure that they didn't just pencil in a new date at the back themselves. Laughing

Just got back my arc today. no problems. got the stamp on the back. Nice to see that if you are renewing with the same school, you don't need to go to immigration yourself.
